SwissMixx in Eagle
Eagle hosts some of the most beautiful outdoor weddings in the valley, foothills views, riverside lawns, and venues that photograph like a magazine. The sound should match the setting. I'm Mark, a sound engineer first and a DJ second, based 25 minutes away in Nampa. I bring gear that disappears into an elegant setup, wireless mics that never crackle through the vows, and a published price list, which is rarer in this market than the foothills view.

Room by room
Curfews, power and what each room does to sound. Confirm any policy with the venue before you build a timeline on it, because venues change their rules and a wrong curfew costs you the last dance.
The thing to know is that ceremonies can be outdoors for 250 but the reception is indoor only, capped at 260. However you picture the night, the dancing happens in the ballroom. Catering and alcohol are theirs.
Outdoor only, up to 400, with the reception under a 30x40 pavilion tent on concrete. There is no indoor backup and there is no plan B building. Weekend rental runs 4 PM Friday to 2 PM Sunday, which is generous for load-in and worth using.
The Grand Ballroom has big sliding glass doors onto a waterfront patio and there is a separate Petite Ballroom. Sound bleeds between the two rooms and out over the water. If there is a second event in the Petite that night, level discipline is the whole job. (The Knot files this venue under Star. The address is Eagle.)
Covered pavilion with heaters built into the ceiling and bistro lighting. Five hours of event time plus one hour after for cleanup, so strike is tight.
One of the only venues in the valley advertising power access in the floor and walls with data lines, plus house sound, projection, house lighting, a stage, a podium and a mic. Honalee is a genuinely well-built room and a lot of Honalee events need less from me than the couple expects. I will tell you that.
The large-group space is the covered outdoor patio, not an indoor ballroom. Plan for outdoors.
Doing it yourself?
Plenty of couples here run their own sound, and for a ceremony and a modest reception that is a reasonable call. I rent the kit, size it to the room, and tell you where to put it. Speaker and wireless mic from $249 Friday to Monday, free pickup in Nampa, delivery across the valley.
Eagle has the highest concentration of venues in the valley that already own real AV. Before you buy a package from anybody, ask the venue exactly what is installed and whether you are allowed to use it.I will tell you what their system will and will not carry, and quote my own either way.
