A typical on-site assessment takes two to four hours depending on the size and complexity of the system. This includes an RF frequency scan, acoustic walkthrough, system measurement, and a review of current operational workflows. After the visit, Mark provides a written report with prioritized recommendations.

Can you train our volunteer sound team?

What I Know About Stanley and the Sawtooth Valley Venues

Curfews, power and what each room does to sound. Confirm any policy with the venue before you build a timeline on it, because venues change their rules and a wrong curfew costs you the last dance.

Redfish Lake Lodge

Every larger reception up there is tented, and the lodge supplies the tent, tables, chairs, arch, dance floor and linens. The indoor alternative is the restaurant at about 40 to 45 people. So plan on outdoor sound in a tent with no walls, at altitude, where the temperature drops hard after sunset.

Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch

Weddings in June or September only, four per year, three-night minimum with a full ranch buyout. If you have one of those four dates, the schedule is already built around vendors being on site for days.

Velvet Falls Dance Hall at Mountain Village

There is a large stage and a house sound system, plus roll-up open-air windows and an outdoor stage. CONFIRM the current state, their renovation was stated to finish end of May 2026.

Sawtooth Valley Meditation Chapel

1977 log construction, wooden floors, wooden pews, seven stained-glass windows. A small, hard, all-timber box that holds up to 150. Beautiful, and it needs a light touch.

The Honest Version

Three to three and a half hours from Boise on ID-21 over Banner Summit, closer to four from Nampa. Same-day return after an evening event is not realistic and I will not quote it that way. The Lowman-to-Stanley section closes for avalanche control in the shoulder seasons, so for any date outside high summer we confirm the road and keep the Ketchum-and-Galena route as the alternate. There is no equipment resupply between Idaho City and Stanley. What I bring is what exists.

Stanley is a two-day job for any vendor who is honest about it. I quote travel and lodging as line items so you can see exactly what the mountain costs, rather than burying it in the package and calling it all-inclusive.

Wind is the vow killer at mountain ceremonies. I use windscreened wireless mics, speaker placement that works with the site, and a covered position for the gear. We plan the weather call with your coordinator ahead of time, not day-of.
