Career and Artist Credits

Mark has spent decades on the road and behind the console for some of the biggest names in entertainment, and has built long-term partnerships with recurring clients across Idaho and Utah.

For larger productions, festival main stages, multi-day city events, corporate concerts, I build the crew from people I have worked beside on the biggest shows in the Mountain West. Every one of them runs their own company. That is on purpose: entrepreneurs bring drive and judgment you cannot hire off a labor board, and I pay more for it because your event feels the difference. Coordinators still get one point of contact and one voice for planning, me. On show day, every position is covered by somebody who has owned the whole problem before, not somebody watching the clock.

Line Array Systems

SwissMixx Audio uses RCF HDL26-A and HDL 6-A touring-grade line array systems for live events. These systems are acoustically modeled to the room, delivering concert-grade coverage and precision tuning at any scale.

For large outdoor events, RCF HDL26-A line arrays are deployed on a vertical lift, covering crowds from 500 to 15,000 attendees across parks, fairgrounds, and lakefronts across Idaho and Utah. Acoustic modeling allows real-time adjustment of each speaker box from the mix position, giving precise control over volume, EQ, and delay across the entire coverage area.

The Midas M32 and Behringer X32 digital consoles handle front-of-house and monitor mixes. With 32 channels of digital mixing, the system scales from a 5-piece band to a full festival production. From Boise and the Treasure Valley to Salt Lake City and beyond, every show is system-designed before doors open.

Treasure Valley City Events

If you run events for a city, a chamber, or a festival board, I am built for how you actually work. One call, a flat written quote, and the paperwork handled before you ask. I have provided sound for city celebrations, parades, fairs, and summer concert series for years, in Idaho and Utah, and I show up with backup equipment for everything.

Paperwork ready

Insured, W-9 on file, and certificates of insurance turned around same day. If your city uses a vendor portal, I will get registered the same week you ask.

Flat-rate quotes

A written number that covers gear, engineer, setup, and teardown. Budget approval is easier when the quote does not have asterisks.

Parade and festival sound

Mobile PA for parade routes and reviewing stands, main stage systems for festivals and rodeo grounds, and battery-powered rigs where there is no power to be found.

The park problem, and why I cost more than a basic DJ

Everyone has been to that park event where the music sounds great for the fifty people up front and like a distant radio for everyone else. Open air has no walls to help you. A DJ rig that fills a reception hall covers maybe a tenth of a city park. This is exactly where I excel: I model the space first, then bring line arrays and delay speakers sized to the actual acreage, so the family on blankets at the back hears as clearly as the front row. Yes, I cost more than a basic DJ. The difference is that everyone in the park hears the event, not just the people standing next to the speakers.

Serving Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Eagle, Star, Kuna, Garden City, Middleton, and Emmett. If your event is the kind people plan the summer around, from a hometown celebration to a night rodeo, let's talk early. Those calendars fill fast on my end too.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions Mark hears most often from event planners and city coordinators across Idaho and Utah.

What sound systems does SwissMixx Audio use for live events? +

SwissMixx Audio deploys RCF HDL26-A and HDL 6-A touring-grade line array systems with acoustic modeling for real-time adjustment from the mix position. Front-of-house and monitor mixing is handled on Midas M32 and Behringer X32 digital consoles, giving 32 channels of flexible digital mixing for events ranging from small showcases to large city festivals across Idaho and Utah.

How large of an outdoor crowd can you cover? +

RCF HDL26-A line arrays deployed on a vertical lift can cover crowds from 500 to 15,000 attendees across parks, fairgrounds, and lakefronts. Coverage area and system configuration are designed based on the specific venue dimensions and crowd geometry, with acoustic modeling allowing per-cabinet tuning for even distribution across the full footprint. SwissMixx Audio has covered large city events throughout the Treasure Valley, Boise, and Salt Lake City.

Do you serve events in Utah as well as Idaho? +

Yes. SwissMixx Audio is based in Nampa, Idaho and regularly serves events throughout Utah, including Salt Lake City, Davis County, Lehi, Layton, Farmington, and Clearfield. Recurring Utah clients include city-sponsored events, county fairs, and corporate productions for clients like Boeing, Adobe, and Ancestry.com. Contact Mark directly to discuss your Utah event location.

Can you handle multi-stage festival setups? +

Yes. Multi-stage events are a core part of the SwissMixx Audio service offering. Each stage gets its own dedicated front-of-house and monitor mix, and for complex layouts, Dante networking ties the stages together digitally so everything stays in sync. Stage coordination is planned in advance to manage simultaneous programming across the event footprint, whether it is two community stages or a large festival with overlapping schedules.

What is your approach to pre-show acoustic planning? +

Every event starts with a system design review before load-in. I use acoustic modeling to plan coverage angles and delay settings based on the venue's dimensions and where the crowd will be, so sound reaches every seat evenly. Every wireless mic goes through frequency coordination in Shure Wireless Workbench before it goes on air, so it won't cut out or pick up interference once the show starts. I verify time alignment with measurement tools before doors open, so there are no surprises once people are in the room.

How far in advance should I book for a city event or festival? +

For city events, festivals, and large outdoor productions in Idaho and Utah, booking 2 to 4 months in advance is recommended. Summer dates across the Treasure Valley and Utah book early, especially July 4th and late summer city celebration weekends. Reaching out early also allows time for a proper site walk, acoustic planning, and coordination with any other production vendors involved in the event.

What types of microphones are used for live performances? +

Microphone selection is matched to the performance type and the acoustic environment. Shure wireless systems are the primary wireless platform, coordinated via Shure Wireless Workbench to avoid RF conflicts, which is especially important at outdoor events with multiple wireless channels in use. For instruments, condensers, ribbons, and dynamics are selected based on the specific sonic character of each input rather than using a single mic for everything.
