That is a real constraint rather than a formality. It means the setup window is short, it happens in the dark and often in the cold, and there is no opportunity to walk the room quietly beforehand. The plan has to be made in advance and executed fast.
It also means a later evening than most weddings, which affects catering, guest travel and how long you actually want the music running.
